Movie reviews 2017...thus far

Hello all,

I've been going to the movies every Tuesday for the last few weeks so I have much to discuss. Just FYI, movies are $4.98 on Tuesday nights at the Cinemark located at the North East Mall in Hurst. So far this year, I have seen Hidden Figures, John Wick 2, Fifty Shades Darker, the Lego Batman movie and Logan. SPOILERS BELOW.

My reviews:

Hidden Figures: A
This film lives up to the hype. A worthy Oscar nominated film with a talented cast. The films includes inspiration, hope, angry and sadness. A lot of mixed emotions but check it out before it leaves circulation and enters the realm of Redbox

John Wick 2: B+
I have to say...I liked the first one more. This movie is packed full of action, and you will not be disappointed but prepare yourself for a cliffhanger. I see a third film in the future

Fifty Shades Darker: C-
If you are a true fan of the book series, then check it out. I warn you...if you are not fond of Jamie and Dakota playing Christian and Anastasia...then I say hold off and check it out on Redbox. A lot of the book is left out and some parts altered. Also, many dry spots in the film where I catch myself spacing out and wishing I was watching the Power Rangers movie.

Lego Batman Movie: B
What a fun film! I really like Will Arnett and his comedic role as "Batman." The film is funny and light-hearted, as the audience is introduced to Batman's new family. I love Robin...have a soft spot for him.

Logan: A
Wow. I mean WOW. Talk about a different take on a superhero movie. In this film, you see how vulnerable Wolverine and Professor truly are, and it truly is an end of an era. This film is R rated and includes action, drama, heart and violence. Deadpool teaser trailer in the beginning and no post credits.

Next I will be viewing Beauty and the Beast, Power Rangers movie, and King Kong.

Stay tuned for more blog post.
